A shooting outside of The Hawk Bar in Lawrence, KS on March 26 at 1:55 a.m. resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to a 22-year-old University of Chicago student and his friend, a 21-year-old University of Kansas (KU) student. A 19-year-old KU student was grazed by a bullet and treated at the scene.
A group of people were socializing outside the bar when a man leaned out of the passenger window of the car, shooting at the crowd multiple times with a handgun. Police said he didn’t seem to be firing at anyone particular, just in the general direction of the crowd.
