Smith Westerns to replace AraabMUZIK at Summer Breeze

Chicago-based indie band Smith Westerns will be playing Summer Breeze on Saturday, as AraabMUZIK’s recovery after being shot precludes him from performing, according to an email to the Maroon from fourth-year Lyndsey McKenna, chair of the Major Activities Board (MAB). Tickets will be refunded for anyone no longer interested in attending Summer Breeze between 11 am and 2 pm tomorrow in Reynolds Club.

Abraham Orellana, the man behind AraabMUZIK, was shot during an attempted robbery nearly two weeks ago. Though it initially appeared that he would still be able to play at Summer Breeze, doctors have determined it would be harmful to his recovery, McKenna said.

Tickets for the show will be sold tonight from 4 pm to 7 pm as well as tomorrow from 11 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 8 pm. The night hours were added following this change in the lineup, which now consists of the Smith Westerns, Lunice, and Nelly.
