Crime Report: February 5-11

This is a series the Maroon publishes summarizing instances of campus crime. Each week details a few notable crimes, in addition to keeping a running count from January 1. The focus is on crimes within the UCPD patrol area, which runs from East 37th to 65th Streets and South Cottage Grove to Lake Shore Drive.

Here are a few of this week’s incidents:

  • February 5, 5730 South Drexel Avenue (Comer Hospital), 12:50 a.m.—During the course of an argument, a male struck his girlfriend with his fist and then fled before the police arrived.
  • February 6, 5048 South Cornell, 11:45 p.m.—Two males, one armed with a knife, took cash from a gas station attendant.
  •  February 7, 1055 East 55th Street (7-10 Lanes), 11:34 p.m.—Three unknown females struck two female victims with their fists in an apparent unprovoked attack. No injuries were reported, and the victims declined medical attention.
  • February 9, 5225 South Harper Avenue (Hotel), 12:53 a.m.—A male subject was arrested for battery of a CPD officer.
