In other solar news, a new sun-photographing telescope, the Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope on Hawaii’s Haleakalā mountain, could help scientists detect solar flares.

  • The committee to build the telescope was headed by UoC Professor Emeritus Eugene Parker.

Gender changes the way voters see electability, according to University of Chicago professor Linda Zerilli. Professor Zerilli specifically examines the effect of this bias on the campaign of Elizabeth Warren.

Professors talked about the philosophy of happiness at a Veritas Forum event. While all agreed that “everyone wants to be happy and fulfilled in their lives,” what that actually means was up for contention.
